Time to check the sweet potato suffle. That's me.

There's Poppi, this is his first full day (up and about) out of his easy chair since last week Wednesday. He's still tired and in pain, but being a good sport about it. Aunt Carol and Anne are on the right. Aunt Carol made the sweet potato suffle. It was Zach's favorite part of the meal.

Here Claudelle is a captive "new" audience for Zachary's Lego building stories.

Zayla is busy "cooking" too... she's been carrying around a plastic spoon and dishes for a few days now. She likes to act out cooking and eating. Would you believe, she ate raw green peppers? She can't be my child! :)

After we ate, we all felt stuffed and needed to get up, so we (Ladies) hung out in the kitchen mostly and chatted while doing dishes... I'm not sure what the guys did. Rumor had it that they napped. Later, when we flet a little more up to it, we had dessert and sang "Happy Birthday!" to Grandma. She had a non-dairy, birthday, pumkin pie... by Sara.

Auntie Sara even read stories! She's amazing.

It's Thanksgiving day and we have so much to be thankful for!

We got together at Grandma and Poppi's. We hung out. Aunt Carol, Cousin Anne, Auntie Sara, Uncle P.C., and Sara's friend Claudelle were all there too.

There was a BIG Turkey! PC helped carve. And Peter helped collect the stuffing.

Well, these were from the 13th of November. We had just gotten over the stomach flu and the weather happened to be really nice outside. Just enough leaves had fallen for us to make a little pile and jump in. The kids worked together (mostly) and really enjoyed being outside.

Zayla was really curious about the feel of the leaves under her feet.

Zach & Zoe really wanted Zayla to jump in too, but she wasn't sure how to do that. So Zach helped a little.

When we were done playing we raked up two big bags of leaves to take out to the trash.

Art Projects

Zoe loves doing craft projects. If she had her way we'd be doing them every day. She learned how to make these placemats at her neighborhood art class with Mr. Bill. She later insisted that we get more supplies to make more placemats at home for Thanksgiving dinner. At home, Zachary got to help too. Zayla cooperated by taking a nap.

We really like it when Poppi and Grandma are in town cause we get to hang out with them and Mom can run errands (all by herself). Zayla and Poppi enjoyed a time of rocking and singing together while Mom was out one day.

Our Floor Project

Ok, some of you have heard of our summer project refinishing windows... We never did take any pictures of that one, but now we are working on removing the carpeting in our living room, hallway/foyer, and dining room. We are hoping that will help with Zoe's allergy / asthma problems. So here is a picture of us working together to scrape up the disintegrated foam padding that has fused itself to the floor finish over the years. Zoe has nicknamed the stuff "cheese".

We were going to try to post these on Halloween but we missplaced our little cable that hooks the camera to the computer. There were a few days of stress involved as we have been ripping up our carpet and thought "Oh no, did we accidentally throw it away?" EEEk! Anyhow, we found it today, horray! Hence all the posts at one time. Maybe you'll have to read them all backwards. I don't know.

So our friends far away have been wondering what we're up to. It's been a busy summer. Here's a bit of it. In the end of July we went to see the Go Fish Guys in Rockford, IL. It was so cool. We stayed overnight at Grandma and Poppi's house. It was our first family concert. Zach says "It was the best concert I've ever been to. It was great!" Zoe says "I really like the songs." It's been quite a messy day! Zayla has become quite proficient at rolling over to get to what she wants. Today while mommy went to get something in the kitchen... she got her cup of baby cereal... and well you can see what happened from there.

Uncles are Great!

We just can't have enough Uncle Nights! They love to play games. Once in awhile they let me play too. This year the guys got together to get a group gift for Jeremy. His very own LEGO Robot! They were so excited they worked on building it for a test drive that very night.

We put up our little tree Dec. 10th. Zoe sang with her CBS green sheep class before our winter break (second on the left). And we experimented with some Pigtails for Zoe's hair.

Zayla is so much fun to have around! She makes us laugh and aaawww all the time. We call her Gymni, her Baby Bowflex. The middle picture shows her holding on to that key rattle. She swung her arms around while holding on tight. It was a riot. She's a great sleeper too. She'll sleep for 10 hours at night and take a couple of naps in the day. yeah!

Come to Bethlehem

We were invited to go to "Bethlehem" again this year. Great Grandpa threw a party for us afterwards at his home. Yes, Those are REAL camels! At the party we learned there's another great grand baby on the way. I've lost count... let's see... Leah, Robin, Jamie, Sam, Mark, Bailey, Morgan, Kasie, Zach, Zoe, Zayla, Noah, Wyatt and ? so that'll be great grand baby 14. WOW! You can see we weren't all there for the party, but those of us who were there sure had fun.

December 2006

In December we were quite busy as well. We started the month with a trip to the Museum of Science and Industry for the annual Holiday of Lights Festival. The kids participated on stage this year with Grandma's group. For part of the program the kids dressed up as Mary and Joseph. We got some pictures of the "Philistine" tree and the Norwegian tree. We also got to take a few minutes to look at the trains.

We spent November being a little busy. We enjoyed being outside for the nice weather. Zoe finished up her gymnastics class and learned that she likes the Ukelele. Aunt Boots came for a visit. And we went to a Retirement Party for Dad.

Uncle Jeremy

Last night the uncles were over for their usual game night. At our house it's called "Uncle Night". Each week Zoe determines what day of the week it is by "Church Day, My Class Day (gymnastics), Uncle Night, Awana Night, and Bible Study Day." So Uncle night is very important. This week we switched things around due to Halloween falling on a Tuesday so we're a little mixed up. Anyhow, Zayla was spending time with uncle Jeremy last night and was totally flirting. She smiled these really long smiles at him and of course as soon as I got the camera the batteries started flaking out. Such is life. Well I got a few good ones.

Zayla has turned 2 months old. It's hard to believe how fast the time flies. She is smiling more and I was FINALLY able to catch one with the camera.

Zachary loves to help take care of his baby sister. He's a really good sport about it. He's been working on his second grade home school lessons, taking a golf lessons at the park and is in AWANA clubs. He is working on his Climber patch.

Well, a lot has happened since we posted last. We went through several days of spending as much time with Grandma and Poppi as we could before they left for the Philippines again. (It's hard to imagine what changes will happen in the next 5 months.) We played games together, did puzzles, built lego and ate lots of food.
